THE SLIGHTEST SOUL… By Heather Chrysalis Mead. February 15, 2015 I was the slightest soul in a house of Stone and Shadow, I took the smallest step -backward-into the corner-hoping- they wouldn’t find me, my little corner I dusted with the reverie of a single rose petal and populated it with books, books and a firefly-lit lamp were my world where I pretended I was loved and accepted, where I scribed the prose I couldn’t speak, my tongue was purpled under the weight of everyday bruises as I tried to catch the feathers falling from the blue atmosphere. I couldn’t speak and I never spoke, from those who raged and ridiculed I locked myself away in Prose and Solitude, I never learned to speak louder than a whisper-and only briefly too- I couldn’t bear to live too loudly, the racket would scatter my sensitive nerves and shrivel the halcyon height that my soul can only reach in the white plumes of Silence. INTIMATE INTERLUDES By Heather Chrysalis Mead. May 28, 2022 The air sizzles with the pulse of an ethereal being, he sheathes the rosy dark of my bedroom with his presence, his face I know-it’s deeply etched upon my heart, through my mind I can hear him, his every golden tone reverberates through the arterial roadways of my softly slumbering body, his warm honey voice is richer than the golden rays that overflows the Sun’s golden cup, spilling it’s golden lavish upon me and meadows Summer-sweetened. Oh how his voice lavishes his riches upon me until Sound becomes Sight and he is all I can see: the charm of his smile, the heat of his eyes, his strength of character, the kissable lean… he need not speak words for he knows me well, instead he speaks with the windblown color of feelings and the allure of hidden thoughts, oh how his memory pledges itself onto every silver fiber of my being, and how I pledge myself to be the book of poetry where his memory can breathe, sweet and fragrant

My Bio

I am a prolific poet and have over 1000 poems. I love rainy days and thunderstorms at night. My favorite season is Autumn, it is so full of color and beauty, inner reflection and subtle wisdom. I love the night, it is then I get most inspired and write the majority of my poetry. I have a close relationship with nature, especially reptiles. I have quite a large reptile family at home which includes nineteen geckos, seven snakes, and twelve tarantulas. They are my family. I get such a pure feeling of fulfillment from being with my reptile family.

Besides reptiles, my favorite animals are bats and owls. I also have several tattoos and piercings. My very first tattoo were vampire bite marks on my neck. I love them.

I just wanted to say thank-you to the anonymous person who gifted me with a 1 month core membership! Thank-you so much to whoever you are. I'm sure I will be on dA a lot more now that the libraries have opened up and now I can have unlimited time on the computer (as long as no one is waiting to use it)...I don't know much about the new features of core membership though, so I am open to advice on how to use it... But thanks again.

My Butterfly Daughter...

I have another butterfly friend!! On September 9th, I found a Monarch caterpillar in the pollinator garden back of my building , I brought her home with the plan to watch her metamorphosis and then release her back into the garden so she can start on her long journey... she turned into her chrysalis 3 days later...10 days later when her chrysalis started to hatch she had an accident and fell from her chrysalis! I put my finger down and she immediately grabbed hold and I took her to her empty chrysalis and she climbed onto it...but she never pumped her wings to get them in shape...so her wings dried miss-shaped and she can't fly...I was so depressed and cried (I so wanted to release her so she fly with her friends) and I ate almost a pound of dark chocolate almonds. But since then we've bonded and I call her my flightless butterfly daughter, she's my best friend just like Sweetie was (in 2019)...I named her Beloved Beauty and yesterday was her 2 week birthday! You're very welcome Lucy! I'm glad you loved your card! Yes, I forgot to write down inside who was featured on it, but that was Cherish featured on your card and Melissa's.

I know I haven't been around dA much lately, but I will always think of you and Melissa fondly, you both have been such good friends to me in the past, and I still want to keep in touch even when I'm not around dA much. I'm glad the card and the poem made you smile.

I hope you will have a magical Winter season. I hope we will get some snow over here soon. December looks depressing without snow...but I'm sure it's on the way.

Yes I certainly did love that card, your cards are always very special, because of the way you make them. Sweet photo of Cherish on the cover, I say the homemade cards are the best. Let me know when you get my card to you if you can. We will always be in touch. I know you dont get on that often but are thought of often. Yes some now would be nice on Christmas.
