PEACHES 2

This is Peaches, one of my first crested geckos and my guardian angel. I firmly believe she knows how I feel when I’m upset, sad and depressed as I was last night. As I walked by her tank, I saw her sitting on her bark looking at me crying. I opened her tank and put out my hand in front of her and she walked onto my hand. It always warms my heart when she comes to me like this, of her own free will. I spent an hour cuddling with her while she just sat with me. I cried as I told her how I was feeling and Peaches was looking directly at my face as I was speaking to her, as if she could understand what I was saying and feeling. Then she reached up and licked my lips. She was giving me a kiss to comfort me! I will always remember that moment, so full of sweet tenderness. I went to bed that night feeling loved and not so alone anymore. Thanks to Peaches, who knew that I needed comfort and a reminder that I was loved. No one can ever tell me that reptiles don’t love…
