Purely
she looked down from where she sat on the
rim of a Star, watching as the milky way
flowed continuously past her, piercing the
blue veil where her sad thoughts took refuge,
a hymn slanting softly from the bare murmurings
of her lips she breathed into the austere
atmosphere, where she stood and watched the
fall of one of her cherished daughters...
a tear slipped free, from the crystal cabinet
of her eyes a single tear fell.

Down
she gazed at her daughter feeling sure that her
chastity was immortal, a warm quilt under which
she slept, behind closed doors she lived alone
with Nature's kin her only family, she didn't
know that the serenity she had cultivated within
could be so easily lost-until her virgin days
from her crept, and her once serene waters rippled
and churned...and still watching from her fiery
height this Vestal could only sigh as another
tear slipped free...and another.

Deeply
he pierced her with lies, a prelude to her
virtue's fatality, the sweet almond he gave
her soon soured on her tongue when she at last
saw his deception and found the strength to
break away from the cruelty he moored between
her ribs-but too late-her worthiest hymen
deleted by deceit as he thrusted between her
precious parts, lusciously she gave, lusciously
she loved-but he just lied, and the Vestal cried,
her tears mingling with her daughter's blood.

Impenetrable
her virgin surf lapped against the ivory tower
seeking re-entry, but the bell's golden sound
had turned to brass under the mangle of claw
and teat, and the Vestal continued her vigil-
palms together-a prayer on her lips-wishing
her daughter would realize what is there can
never be lost, her spirit so purely enthralled
and her heart so chastely given, still wears
the fine lines of innocence, and she is still the
cherished daughter of this watchful Vestal Virgin.

I like how you've used sub-headings, for me it gives the sense of the poem flowing onwards like a narrative. Your words paint an ethereal picture of the scene; I felt like I could see it in my mind's eye as I read.

Thank-you, and yes it's a diffirent style for me to use those sub-headings was a first. It was very emotional to write so I'm happy that you liked it's gentle unfurling...

all the old oracles, fell looking upon her beauty
mesmerized, trembling at the sight of her chastity
her magic was just as pure as tenebrous
the long curve of the lashes concealed the eyes
mirror ornaments filled with water
and only the texture of your her pale skin
would presage what was coming

Amazing... Jewel, this is an entire new... you
